THE BRIDE

The Bible teaches us in John 1:1-2 that King Jesus is the Eternal Son who was not only with God in the beginning but was God from the beginning. It also reveals in Revelation 22:13 that He is the “Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end."

We find in Revelation 21:2 that King Jesus' Bride (The Church) is called the “New Jerusalem!” That’s pretty amazing, but it might be a little confusing too. Why would The Bible refer to a bunch of people as His Bride, and why would His Bride be referred to as the New Jerusalem? Let's look at some other places in Scripture for some answers.

In the book of Ecclesiastes, we see in 10:15 that fools don’t know the way to the city! That’s a scary thing because apart from Christ, we're all fools stuck in our sin. The way to the city isn’t through religion, or by cleaning up our acts, or pretending to be good when we’re really rotten inside. That's why King Jesus said things like, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me," and "...apart from me you can do nothing."

Just like when King Jesus turned water turned into wine, when we truly repent of our sin, King Jesus does a wondrous miracle by giving us new life in Him! The manger, The Cross, and The Empty Tomb are all proof of His UNSTOPPABLE love for me and you!

Our response of thanks comes in spending our lives for Christ telling the world, “Jesus is King!” That's how we help invite others to live with Him forever as members of His Everlasting Bride!

Grace and Peace,
