TURN OF EVENTS

“… this turn of events came from the LORD to carry out His Word, which He had spoken…”
-1 Kings 12:15

What’s our testimony in The Valley of The Shadow of Death? Grumbling? Complaining? Kicking and screaming? Panic? Doubt? Question? Falling away? Sliding back into rebellion?

Anyone can sing and smile on the mountaintops of life, but are we able to stand firm in Christ and be witnesses to/of God’s faithfulness in desperate times of trial and testing (Romans 5:3-5)? Do we really believe He will NEVER forsake or abandon us (Hebrews 13:5-6)? Do I truly have faith He is with me in the fire (Daniel 3:16-30)?

Maybe it’s your job - or not having one… maybe it’s your desperate financial situation… maybe it’s in watching a loved one suffer from disease or illness… maybe it’s in not “feeling” as though your Father in heaven truly loves you because of…

King Jesus said the Father desires those who worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:23) - not in material abundance and emotions.

We have an opportunity to sing God’s praises today -DESPITE- whether on a mountaintop or in The Valley!

You have an opportunity, like Job, even in the times of trials and testing to declare with your voice and actions, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart this life. The Lord gives, and The Lord takes away. Blessed be the Name of The Lord!” (Job 1:21)

Is it possible that this turn of events in your life came from The Lord to carry out His Word, which He had spoken?

The question is, how will you respond? Will He speak through you today to lead our brothers and sisters into the grace and peace of redemption in Christ Jesus our Lord? Will your testimony of faithfulness help lead our family home?

Grace and Peace,

Kevin M. Kelley
