The Bible tells us, “Be strong and
courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified… for the LORD your God goes with you;
he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Jesus spent about three years with
those twelve guys.
Peter recognized Him as the Christ,
Immanuel, and God Incarnate.
Judas bailed and sold Him out for
some coins.
The soldiers came and took Him away
and the remaining eleven fled.
Hanging up there on the Cross they
must have been riddled with:
- Fear
- Doubt
- Guilt
- Shame
- Dismay
- Anxiety
- Panic
- Worry
… but He said, “I’ll never leave you
nor forsake you.”
He said, “Trust me. I got this.”
My life is filled with epic fails in
this department. But it’s also got a few glimmering
moments of triumph. The more I walk with Him and
experience the truth of His promise –
The more frequent those triumphs in
trust come.
I’m in good company.
Those guys had epic fails too.
Then they saw the resurrected
Christ.
Turns out He didn’t lie.
He didn’t overstate.
He came through.
He always comes through – every single
time.
Your marriage…
Your kids…
Your job…
Your finances…
Your health…
Your situation…
He said, “I’ll never leave you nor
forsake you.”
He didn’t lie or overstate.
He’s on it - even now.
They watched their Friend being crucified.
They watched Him die.
They watched Him get buried in a
tomb.
But then they saw Him resurrected.
They saw Him ascend to heaven.
They heard Him say He’s coming back
soon.
They heard Him say He’d send the
Comforter – the Spirit of God.
He told them they’d suffer.
He told them He’d never leave nor
forsake them.
Those pathetic chickens turned into hardcore heroes of the faith!
We believe in Him because of them.
We believe in Him because of their sacrifices and faithfulness to the Gospel.
Do you trust Him in your
circumstances?
When you do – someone else will hear.
When you do, someone else will know.
When you do, someone’s faith
in Him becomes real because of it.
And so the story of redemption chugs
along…
One trusting, faithful hero like you
at a time.
Keep The Trust Train goin'.
Blessing,
-Kevin
