Millstone Necklace

Millstone Necklace

What are you demonstrating, teaching, and modeling for your children, co-workers, family, friends, and neighbors?  Is it life in & through Christ alone or something else? If something else – Jesus has strong words for you.

The Bible tells us repeatedly that we, humanity, are inherently deceitful, willfully corrupt, and hopelessly lost. It tells us that the things we choose, do, think, create, and pursue independent from God result in death - i.e. separation from God.

Religion is humanity’s perverse view of God as we decide & determine. Religion is merely synthetic systems, incoherent philosophies, corrupt institutions, goofy ceremonies and legalistic instructions. They are no substitute for reconciliation with our Creator. Slapping "Christian" on something doesn't make it so. God's Presence is the determining factor.

Orthodox theology is correct understanding of how God sees God. This too is insufficient. Right understanding without reconciled relationship is well-informed rebellion unto death.

Orthopraxy is doing 'right' stuff. According to God any action apart from faith is still sin (Romans 14:23). Works apart from faith is a works-based death, but death none-the-less.

None of those things reveal the heart of God or Christianity.

Abiding abandonment in and intimate identification with Christ (via faith by His grace) is the sum of the Christian life.

Jesus said it like this, "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, the righteous life, and He will give you everything you need."

Don’t allow yourself to be fooled nor fool yourself with anything less (religion, information, works, 'Christian' culture, etc.) than the fullness of life in Christ.

As Jesus said, "If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!"

So if you're not living by grace through faith, and making disciples in the same fashion, maybe it's time to consider the words of Jesus and life in Him who is its Author and Sustainer.

Blessings,
-Kevin
